How much do you know about Galician, a language spoken in north-west Spain? Did you know that it has more than a hundred words for “rain”? Or that Galician and Portuguese share a common medieval origin? And why is Galician TV broadcast in South America?

Join this taster session to discover one of Europe's lesser-known languages and cultures, at times suppressed and restricted.

By the end of the session, you will learn useful vocabulary and phrases: greeting people, introducing yourself… Through our interactive activities, you will explore some distinctive aspects of Galician culture and gain insight into the language's history and the worldwide Galician diaspora.

No prior knowledge is required. The taster session is suitable for complete beginners and anyone curious about learning a new language.
