Macunaima is a vibrant and carnivalesque satirical comedy, an unusually playful highlight of Brazil’s fiercely political Cinema Novo movement and its first genuine Box Office hit.  Dr Victoria Adams, from the Centre for World Cinemas and Digital Cultures at the University of Leeds, will introduce the film on this screening.
